Centuries old, this treatment method is based on relieving pressure from the spinal discs and nerves by suspending the weight of the lower body and letting gravity take its course.
Although traction has been effective for the short-term relief of pain for centuries, it does not target the specific root of the problem nor promote the healing or restorative process.
Today’s method of choice – although much more sophisticated – is actually based on the age-old passive practice of traction therapy. In fact, you could say that the treatment method for back and neck pain has evolved alongside our understanding of the spine and spinal disorders.

Spinal decompression is advanced traction.

Spinal decompression utilizes specialized sensors and computer-controlled movement patterns. Through the use of this state-of-the-art technology, the spine is elongated utilizing targeted pressure tactics that help to rehabilitate the damaged cartilage of the disc and spinal tissue.
In combining our advanced understanding of the spine with spinal decompression’s comprehensive and efficacious treatment method, we’re able to tailor the pull-release movements for customized treatments.
Spinal decompression treatments provide a safe and surgery-free method for restoring spinal health. The underlying benefit of this progressive method is peace of mind and an enhanced quality of life.

Suffering from chronic pain has a huge impact on an individual’s quality of life. There’s no denying that constant pain or discomfort plays a limiting role that affects every area. And surgery as an option is not only scary, but involves many risks.

Thanks to the advancements in our understanding of the spine as well as in technology, there is a solution for relieving chronic back pain today that doesn’t involve surgery. It is a virtually risk-free and gentle treatment called spinal decompression.

One of the reasons that spinal decompression is the best treatment option is in its ability to relieve pain by healing the root cause of the pain. In turn, this ensures that the pain doesn’t return. This is good news for anyone who has experienced long-term pain.

As the first step always involves a consultation with a doctor, spinal decompression treatments are customized to each individual’s unique needs. The treatments involve utilizing a specially designed table that is connected to an advanced computer module for precise monitoring.

Through the use of state-of-the-art technology, the spine is gently extended utilizing gentle and precise pressure tactics that target the damaged area. As well, oxygen and blood are simultaneously supported in their flow to the area being treated.

The end result of this unique treatment is a complete rehabilitation and long-term relief from pain. And the best part? A return to freedom. Freedom of mobility and a better quality of life!

When you undergo decompression therapy you will find such back treatment very gentle and usually pain free. Many patients end up going to sleep during the treatment. You lie on a padded table fully clothed and a harness is used to make sure your body moves when the table does. Movement is set by a computer so there can be no risk of jerking or jolting. Whether you lie face down or on your back will be decided by the doctor.

Each session can last anywhere from ten minutes to half an hour, with twenty minutes being about the average. The first session is likely to be the shortest. The table’s movement is one of tiny increments alternating with short rest periods. Spinal decompression therapy is a viable treatment option that should be tried before riskier spinal decompression surgery is undergone. It often provides good relief from lumbar pain, spinal back pain, chronic neck pain and sciatica pain and is often used to treat degenerative disc disease.

However to gain permanent relief from such conditions more is needed. This spinal treatment should be used in conjunction with specific back exercises and a nutrition programme that will ensure mobility is retained and the injured discs and nerves receive maximum nutrition to aid healing. When discs are herniated and nerves pinched they are starved of the nutrients that help them to heal due to poor blood circulation – which comes about due to restricted movement.

So spinal decompression can be said to have three phases to ensure that the low back pain relief and sciatica pain relief gained is permanent; treatment, exercise and nutrition.

The exercises may vary from person to person depending on the problem. Disc disease or low back pain treatment may differ from sciatica treatment; neck pain relief will be gained by different exercises from those used to treat lumbar back pain. Exercises will be given by the treating specialist or doctor and should be done at home and in the office. Naturally, the nutritional aspect should be maintained until the doctor advises you. Very often such spine treatment will take months of patient work to be successful, although relief is often gained after the first treatment.

The 1st Annual Newlight for Hope Charity Golf Tournament was a success. Its organizer, the Canadian Decompression and Pain Centers, said the inaugural tournament held on August 19 was attended by more than 80 golfers and about 30 other attendees who went to the venue, King’s Riding Golf Course in Maple, Ontario. Everyone agreed that the golf course was a perfect venue for a cause-oriented and fun golf event.

The event started at around 9:00 am and went on the entire day, as scheduled. The highlight of the event was the opportunity facilitated for the participants to strengthen and build their social and possible business network. Breakfast and lunch were served along with an open beverage cart After the tournament, a medical/business trade show was staged during a cocktail reception to give way to presentation of the participating medical firms’ products to prospective business partners and consumers. It turned into a great day of networking opportunities. The trade show made the tournament unique, drawing countless raves from all participants.

An hour-long rain shower made the day interesting to all participants as everyone stayed in the trade show venue, mingled with each other, before they went back out to resume playing afterwards. Most of the attendees had a great time and vowed to sponsor and participate in the next tournament. Proceeds of the golf tournament went go to a non-profit organization called ‘Free the Children,’ which aims to empower children across North America to help in improving lives of other children around the world.
